Did Hitler buy weapons for his soldiers from America during WW2?

Let me tell you something crazy about this. There is a misconception about this. Hitler did not buy weapons from America during the war. It was really not possible for him to do that.

The United States was already helping Germany enemies like Great Britain and Russia. They were giving them a lot of guns and tanks. The British Navy also blocked the ocean so no German ship could sail to America to buy things and bring them back.

You might see pictures of German soldiers using American things.

Well before the war started big American companies like General Motors and Ford built car factories in Germany. When the war started Hitler took control of these factories. The American companies in the US could not do anything about it. The Nazis made these factories build war machines. For example the Opel Blitz, which was the truck the German army used, was made in a factory that belonged to General Motors.

Also near the end of the war the German army did not have a lot of things. When they won battles, German soldiers would go into American camps and take whatever they could find. They German soldiers really liked M1 rifles because they were fast. They also drove American Jeeps until they ran out of gas. The German army used things but Hitler did not pay America for them.
