What was the biggest trauma of Eva Braun, the girlfriend of Hitler?


 Actually in history, Eva Braun does not enjoy a queen life, just becuase she was girlfriend of Hitler. Lots of people think she is a very lucky woman but I think she lived in a golden cage. What I feel the most tragic thing is that she lived like a phantom; for ten years and more, her life was a completely secret one. She was forbidden to appear in public with the person she loves. Imagine, every time when important leaders or officials paid a visit, she was always told to hide in her bedroom and not appear when he appeared. She always felt she did not exist.

She was so disappointed with this kind of life, that she tried to die twice, first was in 1932 by her father's gun, second was in 1935 by taking pills. The trigger was that Hitler would neglect her for months, and that she was still a young lady just crying for a loving relationship as she was ignored by the whole world completely. Her family life was so failed that her father Fritz Braun was so rigid that he was always ashamed of her. Hence she had lost father's love and her family's support, for the sake of staying with a person who keep her out of the public light.


The final part was the saddest: finally got a wedding after so long waiting, but was married in a cold dark underground bunker with all of Hitler's colleagues around them during a bombardment. Only 40 hours for a wedding ceremony. I think for a woman whose lifelong yearning was for a husband, marriage lasting less than 2 days and death was really a heartbreaking end.

 She was put on trial for killing her white employer, Earnest Knight, who she said tried to rape her. Lena claimed she killed him in self-defense, but an all-white, all-male jury convicted her, and she was sentenced to death. Her trial lasted only one day. Before she was executed, sitting in the electric chair, she said: “What I done, I did in self defense or I would’ve been killed myself. Where I was, I could not overcome it. I am ready to meet my God.” Lena was executed on March 5, 1945. She was the only woman ever executed in Georgia. She left behind three children. The leadership spent a lot to ensure that the soldiers appeared shiny and professional with a victory likely to come fast.It was different in 1941 when the invasion of Russia took place.
