Geertruida Trudi Davids was born on 17 th September, 1931, in Groningen, Netherlands.
She had an advantage in the beginning of her life with a happy upbringing at 27 Parklaan maternal engagement. It was the regular life, until it had ended.
In May 1940, Nazi Germany invaded. Since then, it was different. To Jewish families such as the one of Trudi life was getting tougher every day. Orders, terror, and loathing have gone viral. No one could have been unaware that things were bad, and there is no place to go.
Somewhere between September 1943 and it, Trudi and her family were removed out of their house and deported to Westerbork. It was what they described as a transit camp; actually a waiting bay to be dead. Individuals remained until they were taken to horrible places. It took Trudi a whole year to get out of there. The only photographs we possess of her were also made on that camp the last testimony that she ever lived.
Then came October 1944. The family was dragooned to Auschwitz. They arrived on October 7. The following day, Thirteen year old Trudi was murdered. Just like that — gone.Had she lived she would be to-day in her nineties. And history shut her no such opportunity. And the world was still drifting on, with death indifferent of her.
She is left behind just with her name, her photograph and the truth how hate conquered at the time when no one is safe and innocence has no chance.
