McKinney was arrested by the police


 Joyce McKinney, the former winner of the Miss Wyoming beauty pageant in 1973, gained notoriety for her involvement in a series of disturbing incidents. In 1977, McKinney was arrested by the police after kidnapping Mormon missionary Kirk Anderson from his church and subjecting him to three days of captivity as her coerced sex slave.


Following the high-profile case, McKinney fled the United Kingdom and managed to reside in the United States using a forged passport. In 2008, it was discovered that she had cloned her pet pit bull five times in South Korea, which led to charges related to her alleged plot to have a teenager commit burglary to raise funds for her horse's prosthetic leg. In 2016, McKinney filed a lawsuit against filmmaker Errol Morris over his documentary about her.


In another tragic incident, McKinney was involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in 2019, where she ran over and killed a 91-year-old Holocaust survivor with her truck. She fled the scene, leaving her truck near the Hollywood Burbank Airport. Detectives pondered how to approach the situation, but McKinney unexpectedly stepped out of the vehicle, seemingly unaware of their presence. Astonishingly, she proceeded to drop her pants and urinate in front of the officers. The detectives then approached her and initiated questioning.
