When the Titanic sank, millionaire John Jacob Astor IV was on board.

He had so much money that he could have built 30 ships like the Titanic. But when danger came, he chose to do what he thought was right and gave up his place in a lifeboat to save two scared children.
Another millionaire, Isidor Straus, who owned Macy’s, the biggest American department store chain, said,
"I will never get on a lifeboat before other men."
His wife, Ida Straus, also refused to get on a lifeboat. She gave her spot to their new maid, Ellen Bird, and chose to stay with her husband in her last moments.
These rich people were ready to give up their money and even their lives because they did not want to go against their strong moral values.
