In April 1981, the body of a young white woman was found in a ditch on Greenlee Road, in Newton Township, Ohio.

She was wearing a suede poncho, so investigators called her the "Buckskin Girl."

That same day, her body was examined. It was discovered that she had suffered severe injuries to the head and neck before being strangled about 48 hours prior to her body being found.

Despite many years of hard work by investigators, the identity of the Buckskin Girl remained unknown for more than 30 years.

On April 9, 2018, the Miami Valley Regional Crime Lab announced that the woman had been identified as 21-year-old Marcia Lenore King from Little Rock, Arkansas.

Marcia had last been seen by her family in 1980. Although she was never officially reported missing, her family had continued searching for her.

The identification was made possible through detailed DNA testing. Unfortunately, the person responsible for her death has still not been found.
