On October 26, 1929, Roza Alvo was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. The author did not have an extraordinary childhood, she was brought up by attentive parents, had two brothers and a family routine.

War came and everything went down. By April 6, 1941, the population of Greece was invaded by the Nazi soldiers, and existence became survival under the Nazi authorities.

Their intention was evident, kill the Jews, eliminate them. People started being transported to Auschwitz in Poland in 1942 by trains. The experience by itself was cruel one as it was being trapped in cars crowded like cattle, scarce air, no food or water. Others did not survive to the camp.

In 1943 it was the turn of Roza. She was aged 14. She went with her parents and never came back to them. Perhaps in the gas or maybe it was the train, nobody knows. She also lost her parents. Her two brothers managed to survive.

It is just one of the million stories destroyed by Nazis as was in the case of Roza. Those were not figures. They were humans. That is, forget about it and history would be repeated.
